Straight answer. A pound of flower is 453.6 grams. To compare two pound prices, divide each by 453.6 and look at dollars per gram, with the same grade and trim on both sides. Keep the pound sealed, dark and cool. Our pound sacks today hold hemp THCA flower, not CBD flower.

The pound has been 0.45359237 kg since 1959 (NIST SP 811). Scales in a shop should read grams; ask what the weight includes. Our labels mean flower only.

A cheap pound is only cheap against the same thing. Machine-trimmed outdoor flower and hand-trimmed greenhouse flower are different products. USDA’s own survey priced them far apart: in 2024 growers were paid on average $4.06 a pound for bucked outdoor floral hemp and $66.90 for hand-trimmed, against $332 for hand-trimmed hemp grown under protection (USDA NASS, National Hemp Report, April 2025). Keeping a pound fresh

A pound lasts most buyers a long time, so storage matters more than it does for an eighth.

Seal it. Air dries buds out. Keep the sack closed, or split it into a few airtight jars on day one so you open only one at a time.
Keep it dark and cool. Light and heat break cannabinoids down over time.
Expect aroma to fade. Much of the smell is volatile oil. A study of fresh and air-dried buds found the most volatile part, the monoterpenes, made up a smaller share of the oil after drying (Ross and ElSohly, Journal of Natural Products, 1996).
Mind the heat. Heat also turns acids into their neutral forms, THCA into THC and CBDA into CBD. That is fast when the flower is smoked and slow in a warm cupboard (Wang and colleagues, Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research, 2016).

What a pound of CBD flower means after Dec. 11, 2026

From Dec. 11, 2026, federal law counts total THC, THCA included, when it decides what is hemp, and the limit stays 0.3% of dry weight (7 U.S.C. 1639o as amended by Public Law 119-37, sec. 781; start date set by H.R. 6500). At exactly 0.3%, a pound of flower still carries about 1,361 mg of THC. The law also caps final hemp products at 0.4 mg of total THC per container, and how that cap applies to packaged flower is not yet settled (CRS IF13136). We will only sell CBD flower by the pound if the rules allow it. States set their own rules as well, and some ban smokable hemp.
